The Shooting Sports Federation of Finland (SAL) oversees traditional Olympic disciplines and several internationally recognised competition formats.
There are several disciplines to choose from, including rifle, pistol, shotgun and air gun events.

SRA – Practical Reservist Shooting
SRA (Sovellettu reserviläisammunta) is a practical shooting discipline governed by the Finnish Reservist Sports Association, in which situations similar to those encountered in military training and operational environments are simulated.

  • Aim: to develop practical shooting skills and safe handling.
  • Equipment: personal firearms (typically a semi-automatic rifle, pistol and shotgun).
  • Competitions: consist of several shooting stages that assess speed, accuracy and performance under stress.
  • Participation: requires completion of an SRA course and passing an approved safety test.
