Shooting Logbook

A shooting logbook helps you track your own progress and make your training more purposeful.

Shooting practice should be carried out and documented systematically, especially if your goal is to apply for your own firearm licence, as documentation is then mandatory. A shooting logbook is an excellent tool for this purpose.

Rata Academy’s firearms instructors review and sign shooting logbooks after each training session.

A shooting logbook is a personal record maintained by the shooter, documenting all shooting training sessions and performances. It serves as a personal document for tracking your progress and can also be used to demonstrate the amount and quality of your shooting practice, for example to licensing authorities.

The Purpose of a Shooting Logbook

  • Tracking: helps monitor your progress (results, number of shots fired, firearms used and conditions).
  • Documentation: demonstrates active participation in the shooting hobby (for example, when renewing a firearm licence or demonstrating active participation in the hobby).
  • Safety: helps improve safety and identify mistakes.
  • Training: serves as a training log for both the coach and the shooter.
