SRA Shooting

SRA is a shooting discipline governed by the Finnish Reservist Sports Federation (RESUL), with the aim of maintaining reservists' shooting proficiency and promoting responsible firearm handling.

Rata Academy's modern, three-level and fully adaptable shooting range provides exceptional facilities for training in this discipline.

Dynamic and Practical Shooting

SRA is not about shooting from a fixed position on a firing line. Instead, participants complete varied, realistic courses of fire that combine movement, decision-making and quick reactions.

Rata Academy's three-storey shooting range makes this training even more versatile.

• The adaptable range layout allows for a wide variety of situational exercises and realistic training scenarios.

• Rooms, cover positions and shooting sectors can be arranged across different levels, creating training environments that reflect real-world conditions.

• This makes Rata Academy an ideal setting for SRA training, combining versatility with a strong emphasis on safety.

SRA courses of fire primarily test three key qualities: accuracy, reliable performance and safety. Rata Academy's flexible training facilities provide an excellent environment for developing all three.

Safety is always the highest priority, and this has been considered from the very beginning of the range's design. Good visibility, clearly defined shooting sectors and carefully established safety boundaries allow training to take place without compromising safety.

SRA Courses and Participation Requirements

Getting started with SRA requires:

• Membership in a reservist association

• Completion of SRA shooter training, including a RESUL-approved course and firearm handling test

• Valid shooting insurance

Approximately 100 SRA courses are organised across Finland each year. Their aim is to train shooters who can demonstrate both safe and effective shooting skills.

Rata Academy's training range is particularly well suited to these courses. Its adaptable courses of fire allow participants to progress safely and gradually, from basic exercises to more demanding practical scenarios.

Those who successfully complete the course receive an SRA Shooter Card, which qualifies them to participate in SRA competitions and training sessions throughout Finland.

Why SRA? Why Rata Academy?

SRA develops skills that cannot be learned by standing still on a firing line: movement, quick thinking and firearm handling in situations where conditions can change within seconds.

Rata Academy's multi-level, adaptable shooting range provides the ideal environment for developing these abilities.

At Rata Academy, SRA enthusiasts gain more than just a training session:

• A realistic, varied and safety-focused shooting experience

• Opportunities to develop their skills through practical training

• A community of people who share the same passion for the discipline and its values

Rata Academy is where SRA comes to life, one shot at a time.
